BRIEF: Completed in 2019, the brief for this Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire front garden was to create impact and interest all-year-round with a strong structural element to the planting.

DESIGN SOLUTION: The final design was coastal-themed based on a grid system of 800mm squares, interspersed with Yew cubes of varying heights for year-round structure. The central irregular-shaped area of the grid was edged in steel with main perennial planting on the inside and groundcover planting in a gravelled area to the perimeter. Within the grid, tall, gauzy perennials and grasses contrast with the hard geometry of the Yew cubes.
