BRIEF: The design brief for this garden in Farnham Common, Buckinghamshire was to create a larger dining and socialising terrace from the original small patio; to incorporate a greenhouse, water feature, sculptural bench, vegetable beds and woodland area.

DESIGN SOLUTION: The original terrace has been retained and incorporated into a new terrace in sandstone planks which ‘fragments’ as it moves down the garden, creating pockets for planting and becoming a stepping stone path further on. The centrepiece of the new terrace is a 1.5m corten water bowl which gently overflows into pebbles; a charred oak bench creates a sculptural focal point and seat,

Nb. The project build is being phased with the first phase in early 2019 and the second phase (end of the garden) in 2020.
